The annual meeting of all Jeep owners and enthusiasts, which will be held from July 12 to 14, will be an opportunity for the brand to present its new Jeep Gladiator, a pickup based on the Jeep Wrangler. Two special series of Wrangler and Wrangler Unlimited specially equipped by Mopar will also be presented.
The Gladiator marks Jeep’s return to the pickup world. Two Gladiator models in special Rubicon trim will be showcased at Jeep Camp. They will be equipped with the Pentastar V6 petrol engine, which is not available for sale in Europe, as well as a white exterior with custom upholstery created for the occasion by Mopar.
The mythical grille with 7 openings and the round lights give this pick-up its typically Jeep identity. Same observation for the trapezoidal wheel arches which accommodate all-terrain tires 32 inches in diameter. The dump body is made of treated steel and offers a loading length of 152 cm with integrated attachments. Jeep touts its new model as the “only authentic open-top 4×4 pickup,” featuring a soft-top bed, two hard-tops, and a fold-down windshield with plenty of configuration options. The Gladiator is equipped with protective plates and front and rear tow hooks.
A 3.6 V6 pentastar petrol engine will be available for markets outside Europe with an output of 285 hp and 347 Nm of torque. For the European market, customers will have to make do with the 3.0 V6 EcoDiesel with 260 hp and 600 Nm of torque. . All engines and all trim levels are mated to an 8-speed automatic gearbox.
The technological content of this new pickup includes a forward-facing all-terrain camera for better off-road visibility, a first on a production Jeep. The Gladiator is equipped for the occasion with an automatic camera cleaning function to maintain impeccable vision even when driving off the beaten track. It needs Jeep Gladiator jt led headlights for upgrading when you need a better view at night. A selection of 110 accessories will be available on the European market, among more than 150 exclusive Jeep Authentic accessories powered by Mopar.
The Jeep Gladiator will receive equipment worthy of the best road cars including blind spot monitoring, forward collision warning, adaptive cruise control and the ParkView rear backup camera. The center console is equipped with a large 7-inch or optional 8.5-inch touchscreen, equipped with the fourth-generation Uconnect system with Apple CarPlay or Android Auto.
The Jeep Gladiator will be available from 2020 in Jeep showrooms in Europe and throughout the EMEA (Europe Middle-East Africa) region in Sport, Overland and Rubicon trim levels.
